Spring Tension

Stretched…taught…your drought tangible

I can feel your dust…your parched lips

Your dirt cracks…they open…hungrily

Your wattle shined…but not for long

Gumnuts flowered….then stripped away

By the beaks of cockatoo… and galah

Stealing your honey… greedily, intoxicated

Screeching delight… at your dessert offerings

As your trees sway… and dance…they too… long

For just a drop of moisture…leaves dull, turning inward

Ever so patient…for a cloud…to come this way

Spit on us you sky gods…bring life back to our Sophia

Our Mother…our provider…and our home in the stars.

Bring Her…your Waters…your life giving waters

Once more unite….embrace, and devour each other

Like Hungry lovers…the cycle is returned

The Earth is abated…released…tension gone

Relaxed… taking in the liquid… to her Roots

Earth… and Water ….you are one….time to rest.

“I do conjure thee, Earth
Now in the secret hour of night
Ebb and flow of meeting
And for my place, precisely stand centred
By this, the mystery of my Craft
Entrenched I see the boundary round
And of ought else, nought but the riding moon.
And these possess my thought and soul
Facing my truth to them
For I desire no other thought but these
For since long time I do require to learn
The truth of truths
Yea verily have I suffered to acheive
The life becoming spirit
And know that good and evil will prevail
Within no forced equality
Circle of Moon be gracious to me”
~~Roy Bowers

How can I not be moved,

Gazing into your radiant face.

Your petals hold the mystery to your deepest secrets,

Your opening reflects my inner opening.

You give so generously from your roots,

What hides in the darkness nourishes.

In the silence of the solitary,

Together Mother our brilliance is born.
