Amaterasu Omikami

Ancient serpent, Goddess of fire,

Fullness, dreaming tracks, forward moving.

Compassion, love and transformation,

You are deeply in me fanning my fires.

Seeing that things change for the best,

You burn and singe and destroy.

Yet you give life and renewal once again,

Your flames surround me.

I fall into their soft warmth,

Your warmth Amaterasu.

And in my letting go and my breathing out,

I pour forth the out dated.

Seeping out through the pores of my being,

Goddess Sun is working through my veins.

Keeping the flow happening,

Keeping the cycle moving.

Death, despair, resurrection, renewal,

Held in the arms of the gentle mother.

Surrounded by her fires of love,

And her tears of heartfelt compassion.

I ride the two headed dreamtime serpent,

Across the valleys, up the mountains.

To the depths of the ocean floor and beyond,

As the scales peel back, and are left behind.

I too leave behind my old skin,

I bow to the Sun goddess at the peak of her fullness.

I breathe in the fire of Her wisdom,

I knowingly journey safely ahead.

Forward I move as the peak has now passed,

Light dwindles, days shorten.

I am at peace, the pace is slowing,

The fire is burning in my heart and in my hearth.

The smoke dances with the winds and the trees,

The flame is a glow, burning brightly.

Within me and without me,

I am full and I am empty.

The paradox is the mystery,

I embrace it, and ride my initiation.

Beltane

Beltane Thoughts from 16 years ago…..

“As the wheel turns… Flourishing life, sap rising, maturing, strengthening. Fledglings leave their nest and crops make promise of the harvest to come…”

Now we approach Beltane, also known as Walpurgis Night and May Day to those who follow the Olde Ways, it is the height of spring and the flowering of life. Here the land is full of the gifts of nature.

The night air has a sweet scent and growing warmth about it, the darkness of winter is over and it’s time to be greeted by the rebirth of the earth itself: bulbs come up and bloom, filling the air with their heady, tempting fragrance; birds chirp and sing as their fledglings cry to be fed, as they stretch their wings and take their first brave flights from the safety of their nests. All around us are symbols of fertility, growth, warmth and light. It is the perfect time to celebrate the end of winter hibernation and to reconnect with your friends and loved ones.

Here in Australia, the spring Maiden and the young Lord of the Bush clumsily tumble from the windy and heady heights of the Eastern Hill they roll down the hill in a rush and surprise into the Beltane paddock now littered with spent wattle, callistemon, grevillea and soft rich grass. It is here they finally give into their Beltane desires. With the sap rising strong in the bush, and the birds and the bees, chirping and buzzing, Beltane is a time of rich sexuality. The earth pulses beneath them and their union, the land is transformed, across the top end the rivers, creeks and waterfalls flow, they also are transformed, He is King and She becomes Queen. Now together, transformed and powerful they dance in the footsteps of their ancestors across the rainbow serpent tracks of the dreaming. They are magnificent and terrifying all at once; this union is full of passion and creativity, joy and inspiration, as they sway and swirl over this red earthed sunburnt country.

Together we will dance and weave our way around the rainbow serpent, connected by ribbons, and we will build energy, we will focus on transformation for ourselves, and for our precious land to be free of the current drought. Though a fire festival, we will be using our inner fire due to fire restrictions at this time of year.

Your Personal Declaration

You might begin the celebration of Beltane, by gathering flowers in Nature prior to the circle, these are an offering to both the God and the Goddess to empower our circle. Each flower that you gather is a flower of creativity and inspiration for the transformation. As you select each flower consider how each one reflects your inner changes, and inner desires.

This is a time to consider your new growth too, to delight and celebrate in the changes that you have bought forth, to celebrate your own maturing into further wisdom, your responsibility for all of your actions, and to celebrate the transformations of self as you journey around the wheel, in peace and love. A celebration of Nature in all her beauty.

Work on transforming what is slowing your progress, what is negative and out dated, what brings you pain and discomfort, this is the time for Change.

Could we work on out compassion? Or our respect? Our service to community and humankind? Search through the things that are important and your actions on the social/ political/ecological scale as well. Bring back something with you to place upon your altar or sacred place.

The Descent into Autumn

As we stand at the entrance to the West gate, opposite the place of the rising sun that gave us light for the last 6 months we now turn to the deep waters of the changing time, our shedding complete, we stand bare, sunset, dusk, autumn, harvests end, as the darkness enfolds the sun grows old, our thoughts turn towards the coming winter.

Let’s measure what we have achieved and start plans for what will ensue, let’s sort, sift and store our fruits and seeds, and prepare our tools for our journey to the underworld, Her deepest mysteries.

We stand at this western water crossroad preparing ourselves emotionally for the passage within to the deepest self.

On Saturday at 8.39pm EST when the sun moves into the astrological sign of Aries here in Australia, we celebrate the exact moment of Equinox, of balance, light and dark, and of the turning of the wheel.

Time for  preparing for the doorway down, through the Mysteries once again, Mabon or Alban Elfed (the light of the water)  is approaching, I shall open myself to the seeing, this place of deep waters is for my healing. The land is slowing, rotting, swelling and falling.

Nature and my ancestors are imprinted in my bones. Water holds the memories that bring me back, year after year to revise this sacred life, to learn, to walk through new lessons, and to grow stronger through the deep harvest in Water.

I am the seed in the pomegranate, swimming in the ancient bloodied waters.

As I grow older like the sacred land, I want to keep growing, learning and live a full, happy life, because I deserve it!

As I withdraw more and participate a little less in service with humanity, Hecate stands at the crossroads, smiling, and she shows me this is my personal key to harmony. The Wisdom of the Goddess shows me the importance of service to Her, and that my longed-for healing takes place with helping and assisting Her.

Light thy torch of gnosis dark lady, illuminate my path, the divine Presence within me knows to become whole I must awaken within the glowing embers, and ignite thy dormant seed.

As I mature so does my need to let less people in, to mentor quietly from my truth, Her truth, this is a process that I will continue till I draw my last breath and journey west for the final time in this incarnation. Now as Autumn Equinox approaches, I know my journey continues again as we move to this place on the Compass, the place of deep reflection and scrying and deep memory; you too can take this opportunity for your own healing.

Cut down the branches impeding your growth, and your forward movement. Make way for new growth, and your own ongoing evolution, these are exciting times as the paradigm shifts and we walk each other home again…..

Hecate’s womb awaits all

With love to all the abused ones, for we are kith….

We have to walk back into the darkness of the pain and the hurt child,

hold them,

love them,

take all year if you have to,

write,

cry,

create,

cry,

meditate,

cry,

chant,

cry,

journal,

cry,

sing,

till the tears stop,

and then we truly emerge.

Your roots are your family, they will always be a part of you, your foundation, your DNA, your heritage .

When a branch falls from a tree, it is still of that tree.

Dig deep my friend, savour the void.

Inhale the smell of the rich rotting earth, feel it, for you are kin.

Bones, feathers, claws, shed skin and fur

Uncloak, unwind, leave unwanted shapes behind.

Surrender here at the Goddesses feet, embrace her soothing balm.

For we are all but one

Kneel at Her altar

Her dagger of ritual power

Midwife’s your potency

Your umbilical cord of

rebirth and renewal

Plant your new seeds in the light of her torches

Deep love, gratitude, forgiveness, the key

Mother Night

Opening Up

17492659_10155229350537975_6011126634595684923_o

Nature teaches us the power and beauty of opening up, if we stay closed we cannot share our unique perfume with the world, we cannot attract the bees and other insects to pollinate our center. Nor can we experience the joy of letting go, and transforming from bud to seed. Thank you Goddess for this beautiful teaching place here on earth with your gifts that surround us in lessons for life. Today I am so grateful for the lessons from a beautiful red rose, and the exhilarating scent that opens my heart. Deep happiness on your day

The divine Presence within me knows to become whole, I need to live fully, to take part, and become involved with others. Some days I can choose to do just a little at a time, until I feel I can do more.

As I mature so does my willingness to let more people in, to mentor from my truth, Her truth, this is a process that I will continue till I draw my last breath and journey west for the final time in this incarnation. All of us have a deep, deep desire to belong, spiritually we are at our best when we participate with others, this is the time of year to consider cutting down the branches of isolation, and make the way for new growth toward a life of loving involvement. Remember this…Life is for living!

Sedna

Today I am so very grateful to be able to dive down deeply into my darkest shadows, and work on removing what is no longer needed or valid to make my life more peaceful and purposeful with the assistance of Sedna.  She is the Goddess of the depths of the ocean and all the wonderful mammals down there, she is an Inuit Goddess, who brings these creatures to the surface to feed her people. She had her fingers cut off as a human by her father, some stories say, that she was dropped into the depths of the sea, but was changed to an immortal, see how her fingers are missing in the picture, and how they changed into fish. Sedna is also a planet out past Pluto that was discovered, and this planet makes us dig deep.

As I bring the renewed energies of my Saturn Return to the surface, I am so grateful for the people around me that support me to continue to do the work of transformation, for the planet, humanity and myself.

Beltane Blessings…..on this All Hallows Eve…

Beltane Blessings…..on this All Hallows Eve…

She is Sun Moon and Stars, woven into the dense fabric of His dark mantle; locked together in an eternal universal embrace, they dance the cosmos into all realities. She animates all creation; Mistress of the earth, the heavens and the mighty oceans, He is Creation in all its forms…. Together they dance all measure of your reality…

Brilliance

How can I not be moved,

Gazing into your radiant face.

Your petals hold the mystery to your deepest secrets,

Your opening reflects my inner opening.

You give so generously from your roots,

What hides in the darkness nourishes.

In the silence of the solitary,

Together Mother our brilliance is born.
